We went camping at Leo Carrillo State Beach this weekend and it was great. I took a few pictures and they’re up on Flickr.

Camping season has officially begun, and were planning at east four more trip this year! Next up..El Capitan in April!

It’s fire time again. blogging.la has some good links to live coverage and a local view on the situation. Hopefully the wind will slow down and the weather get cooler soon. I’m glad I live in the concrete jungle. It’s pretty hard to burn asphalt…

Friday night was spent at Oktoberfest in Alpine Village (Torrance.) The rain cut our night short but nothing beats Alpine lager in giant styrofoam cups, oompa band and the chicken dance, even if you are in a tent in the parking lot by the 110 freeway. I reccomend everyone try it out at least one night. I think I’ll be going back before they close on the 28th of October.

Just finished eating at Meltdown in Culver City. This relatively new grillery served up a 3 cheese on sourdough with applewood smoked bacon. It was awesome! At 9.50 for the sandwich it’s quite pricey, but the cheesiness is meltastic.

After Nintendo announced last week that the Wii would still be scarce in stores due to production issues I began once again on my hunt for a Wii in order to beat the Christmas crowd. I have a list of 6 local GameStops as well as every Target, Cicuit City, Best Buy and Toys R Us in the area that I’ve been calling every day but so far no luck. One guy told me Tuesday is the day when the orders come in so Ill be doing the rounds again today. Anyone know where I can get one in LA?

This one is a little late, but I went to see Novak’s band Jettison Babies at the Whiskey August 3rd.

We spent yesterday afternoon and evening at the Hollywood Bowl for the annual Reggae Night. Wailing Souls, Sly and Robbie(plus guests) and one of the true originators, Burning Spear. It was a great night! Summer concerts at the Bowl are awesome because you can bring your own food and booze. This time we were packing KFC and an abundance of beers which makes the night go much more smoothly.
